Buying from iTunes has become a pastime for most people now. They have sold over 1 billion songs. So that alone suggests there is a large majority of people buying their music from the iTunes store. I myself purchase my songs and TV shows from iTunes because it is easy, not because it is cheap. I think the price point itself is a little high. Don't get me wrong I believe that the artist should be compensated fairly. But what we have here are some greedy record labels that like to squeeze all they can from the consumer and the artist. Lets face it nowadays with computers and the internet most bands can record, promote and sell their creations without the help of these large labels, especially Sony (root kit). But there is still a need for central points of sale i.e. iTunes, Google, etc... and I am glad that Eliot Spitzer has been looking into this as the price of singles still needs to come down a tadd in my opinion.
